Paula Herrera leads speech research at Callmate. Her team works on turn taking, interruptions, accents and noisy lines, the parts of a phone call that make an AI sound either natural or robotic.
About
She holds a PhD in computational linguistics and previously built speech recognition for call centers in Spanish and Portuguese. Callmate's bilingual answering came out of her first project on the team.
