Write routing rules

Decide which calls Callmate handles alone, which ring a person live, and which become a message.

Routing rules decide what happens to each call. Write them in plain words, the way you would brief a new hire.

Add a rule

Open Routing and click New rule. Describe the situation and the action, for example: "If a caller mentions a gas smell, ring the on-call rota immediately."

Order matters

Rules are checked from top to bottom, and the first one that matches wins. Put emergencies at the top and catch-all rules at the bottom.

Let Callmate judge urgency

Turn on Judge urgency to let Callmate transfer calls that sound urgent even when no rule matches. Every transfer shows which rule or judgement triggered it.

Test before you save

Use Try a call to describe a call and see which rule would match, before any real caller hears it.
